    Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bliss Balls

    Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bliss Balls are a delightful and nutritious snack that combines the classic flavours of peanut butter and chocolate. Perfect for a quick energy boost or a healthy treat, these bliss balls are easy to make and require no baking.

    Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bliss Balls

    This was inspired by my Crispy Peanut Butter Fudge Bars, I use the same base but press into bars and top with melted chocolate. I've also done something really similar with these Healthy No-Bake Fudge Brownies.

    These balls are my favourite thing to make at the start of the week to pick at throughout the week. They are super easy to throw together, and literally can be made in less than 15 minutes.

    • Rolled Oats/Oat Flour: Provides a good source of fibre and essential vitamins, helping to keep you full and satisfied.
    • Peanut Butter: Rich in protein and healthy fats, peanut butter offers a creamy texture and a boost of energy.
    • Maple Syrup: A natural sweetener that adds a hint of sweetness without the need for refined sugars, plus it contains antioxidants and minerals.
    • Chocolate Chips: Adds a touch of indulgence and provides a satisfying chocolatey taste. Choose dark chocolate chips for added health benefits.
    • Sea Salt Flakes: Enhances the flavours and balances the sweetness, adding a slight crunch to each bite.

    Instructions for Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bliss Balls

    1. Step 1: Add the oats to a high speed blender and blend on high for 1 minute to make oat flour.

    1. Step 2: Add the oat flour, peanut butter, maple and salt to a mixing bowl and mix well to combine.

    1. Step 3: Add the chocolate chips and fold them in.

    1. Step 4: Roll into balls and enjoy!

    Hint: If the mixture is too dry, add a little more peanut butter. If it's too wet, add a bit more oat flour until you achieve the desired consistency.

    Substitutions

    1. Almond Butter: Use instead of peanut butter for a different nutty flavour and to accommodate peanut allergies.
    2. Honey: Substitute for maple syrup if you prefer a different natural sweetener.
    3. Cacao Nibs: Replace chocolate chips with cacao nibs for a less sweet, more intense chocolate flavour and added antioxidants.

    Variations

    1. Protein Boost: Add a scoop of your favourite protein powder to the mixture for an extra protein boost.
    2. Nut-Free: Use sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter for a nut-free option suitable for those with nut allergies.
    3. Add-ins: Mix in dried fruits like cranberries or raisins, or add some chopped nuts or seeds for extra texture and flavour.

    Equipment

    The blender I use is called the Optimum 9400 by Froothie, it's amazing at getting the oat flour super fine. Sadly I don't think they sell it anymore!

    Storage for Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bliss Balls

    Store the Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bliss Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. For longer storage, you can freeze them for up to three months. Simply thaw in the refrigerator before enjoying.

    Top tip

    Using your hands to mix and mash the ingredients ensures everything is well combined and makes it easier to form the balls.

    Can I use different types of oats?

    • Yes, you can use either rolled oats or quick oats. Blending them into oat flour creates a smooth texture, but you can also use store-bought oat flour.

    How long do these bliss balls last?

    • Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, these bliss balls can last up to one week.

    Can I make these vegan?

    • Yes, ensure that your chocolate chips are vegan and use a plant-based milk if needed to adjust the consistency.

    Ingredients
      

    • 100 g/1 cup rolled oats or quick oats. Or 100g of oat flour
    • ½ cup peanut butter natural, smooth
    • ⅓ cup maple syrup
    • ½ cup chocolate chips
    • ½ teaspoon sea salt flakes

    Instructions
     

    • Add the oats to a high speed blender and blend on high for 1 minute to make oat flour. If you already have oat flour skip this step (oats are typically cheaper than oat flour though!)
    • Add the oat flour, peanut butter, maple and salt to a mixing bowl and mix well to combine. The mixture may get a bit stiff so it's a bit easier if you mix and mash with your hands.
    • Add the chocolate chips and fold them in.
    • Roll into balls and enjoy!

    Notes

    • Consistency Check: If the mixture is too dry, add a little more peanut butter or a splash of milk. If it's too wet, add a bit more oat flour until you achieve the desired consistency.
    • Mixing with Hands: Using your hands to mix and mash the ingredients ensures everything is well combined and makes it easier to form the balls.
    • Storage: Store the bliss balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will firm up and become even more delicious after a few hours of chilling.
