Why you'll love these Tahini Oat Bars

Wholesome Ingredients: Made with natural ingredients like oats, tahini, and maple syrup, these bars are a nutritious snack option that will keep you fueled and satisfied.

Simple and Easy: With just a few ingredients and minimal prep time, these bars are quick and easy to make, perfect for busy days when you need a healthy snack on the go.

Customisable: Feel free to customise these bars with your favorite add-ins such as nuts, seeds, or dried fruit for extra flavour and texture.

      Ingredients

      • Rolled oats: Provide a hearty base for the bars and add fiber for a satisfying snack.
      • Tahini (hulled): Adds richness and nuttiness to the bars while also providing healthy fats and protein.
      • Maple syrup: Provides natural sweetness to the bars without the need for refined sugars.
      • Flax meal: Adds a nutritional boost with omega-3 fatty acids and acts as a binder for the bars.
      • Dark chocolate chips: Add a decadent touch of chocolatey goodness to the bars.
      • Coconut oil: Helps to melt the chocolate and gives the bars a glossy finish.
      • Sea salt flakes: Enhance the flavour of the bars with a hint of saltiness.

      See recipe card for quantities.

How to make these Tahini Oat Bars

Combine oats, maple syrup, tahini and flax meal in a bowl

Press into a lined loaf tin

Pour over the melted chocolate then sprinkle over some sea salt

Set in the fridge or freezer, chop into bars and enjoy!

Hint: Adding a teaspoon of coconut oil to the melted chocolate will stop the chocolate from cracking into unwanted pieces when cutting into bars. The addition of a small amount of oil means you'll get a nice clean slice.

      Substitutions

      1. Nut Butter: If you don't have tahini, you can use almond butter, peanut butter, or any other nut butter of your choice.
      2. Honey: Substitute honey for maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter flavour.
      3. Different Chocolate: Feel free to use milk chocolate or white chocolate chips instead of dark chocolate for a different flavour profile.

      Storage

Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. For longer storage, wrap individual bars in plastic wrap or foil and freeze for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave briefly before enjoying.

This is now one of my go-to snacks! Love these so much. I've substituted almond and cashew butter a few times and it's just as delicious.

Any neutral oil or skip it. It just makes the chocolate easier too slice 🙂
